Lower Keys Medical Center Offers Extended Mammography Hours in October
10/2/2026
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an opportunity to educate communities about the importance of regular screenings and early detection. Mammogram screenings are the best way for women to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before there are symptoms.
Lower Keys Medical Center’s Women’s Imaging Center is scheduling mammography appointments throughout October and through the remainder of the year. Appointments may be scheduled Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday hours will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on October 10 and October 17.
For women of average risk, the American College of Radiology recommends annual mammograms starting at age 40. Different guidelines apply to women at higher risk. For American College of Radiology recommendations, visit acr.org.
“We are encouraging women to start a direct conversation with their healthcare provider,” says Courtney Bonner, D.O., board-certified internal medicine physician at Keys Medical Group Primary Care. “Breast health is not one-size-fits-all. Your age, family history, and personal risk factors should be considered.”
Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. An order from a physician or qualified healthcare provider is required. All mammogram reports will be sent to the physician or provider, and the patient is responsible for follow-up. Check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage for a screening mammogram.
