As the community's only hospital, Lower Keys Medical Center plays a critical role in Key West. Our full-service, 167-bed facility offers offer 24/7 access to emergency room, cardiology, orthopedic, surgical, labor and delivery, behavioral health services and more.
The hospital is committed to delivering high quality, compassionate medical care. Across our emergency room, inpatient rooms, outpatient clinics and physician practices, we serve more than 95,000 patient visits each year. We work hard to ensure patients and visitors in our hospital have a positive experience.
Investments are made to enhance and expand services to meet the medical needs of our community. We regularly review community demographics and use of the hospital to offer the most needed services. New and expanded services we offer include cardiac catheterization and bariatric, spine, ophthalmologic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.

The hospital is deeply rooted and invested in the Key West community. We are proud to be one of our area's largest employers, with more than 500 local residents working at our hospital. Our direct impact to the local economy through wages, taxes, uncompensated care, charitable contributions, capital investments in our facility and purchase of local good and services was more than $73 million in 2015.
