Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Services

The LKMC Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed unit whose staff provides for the acute care of both medical and major surgical patients.

Medical patients include those on ventilators, with sepsis, major endocrine disorders such as diabetic ketoacidosis or diabetic coma and medical cardiac patients such as acute MI, cardiogenic shock (as well as other states of physiologic shock). The LKMC critical area has an all licensed RN staff that is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). 

Our ICU department has been recently updated with new flooring, lighting, fresh paint and ceiling tiles.

ICU patient rooms were updated with new glass doors, beds, support monitors, adjustable lighting, privacy curtains, window treatments, information boards, and atomic clocks.  

ICU nurse station has been updated with new cabinetry, lighting and computer equipment. ICU also received a kitchen with new cabinetry, appliances and a ICU staff break area.
